My students need sanitizing hand wipes, facial tissues, antibacterial hand soaps, and disinfecting surface wipes to ensure a healthy and clean classroom environment.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students attend a Title I school and are from diverse ethnic/cultural backgrounds, namely Bangladeshi, Chinese, Hispanic, and French. 95% of them are Latino and African American. The rest are sparsely mixed with other ethnicities. In my classroom, there are students with a range of disabilities, including intellectual disabilities, emotional disturbance, autism spectrum disorder and specific learning disabilities.
My students are an adorable, active bunch that have their hands in everything, so during the excitement of play and discovery, basic health practices are often overlooked.
These include washing their hands, sneezing into a tissue and covering mouths when coughing. Without basic cleanliness, my classroom turns into a playground for bacteria. These resources will help maintain a healthy and safe environment in which my little scholars can thrive holistically.
My Project
It's important to keep and maintain a clean and tidy classroom environment for a number of reasons. First of all, it helps to avoid the spread of those pesky little germs. Secondly, it helps to avoid the disgusting smells that may linger throughout the day. Now that it's coming close to the flu season and having all those little bodies breathing the same air, that air is filled with bacteria (kids blowing their noses and sneezing) along with the smell of food from the children's snacks and lunchboxes.
By donating to our project, you will have played a part in helping to keep the germs out of our classroom so our students can focus on the more important things!
This can all potentially create health problems if the classroom is not kept clean. Besides the negative impact it may have on your health, it's always a good idea to keep the classroom clean to show students the importance of living in a clean environment (not to mention that it can be embarrassing for others to see such a mess).
