My Project
My students have not had new books in a long time. We have a small school, without a school library, so students need access to great books that keep their interest and connect them to a greater world.
We are currently studying immigration and migration, so many of the books help support an understanding of the immigrant experience.
These books become a base for our conversations, our writing, and understanding of many immigrant experiences.
As a part of our unit students will be in learning in book groups that cover some aspect of an immigrant story. These books groups will be a collaborative opportunity for students to learn and grow.
