My Project
As an elementary music teacher I will use these stories, mixed with songs from around the world to increase empathy and understanding for students from diverse cultural backgrounds. I will use these stories, create activities and share songs from around the world. Multicultural literature serves as a powerful tool in enabling students to gain knowledge of both their own culture and the cultures of others. Through our journey of stories and songs, we build better relationships, with those in our classroom and community, we build bridges that connect to ourselves and the world around us. Multicultural children's books should not speak to a limited group, they should speak to all children.
