A Window to the Wild

Help me give my students a bird feeder camera to bring nature into our makerspace, giving students rare opportunities to observe wildlife, spark curiosity, and explore STEM through real-world observation and discovery.

My Project

Help my students connect with nature through a bird feeder camera. Many don’t have daily opportunities to experience wildlife, and this tool brings nature into our makerspace. With a bird camera, students can observe, document, and analyze bird behaviors up close, sparking curiosity and a sense of wonder. It will also connect directly to STEM learning—introducing biology, ecology, data collection, and even coding as students explore ways to track patterns or design projects around their findings.

In the makerspace, the bird feeder camera will inspire cross-disciplinary projects: art students sketching what they see, science students analyzing species, and tech students creating data logs or digital displays.

At the same time, it creates a calm, mindful space where students can simply enjoy watching nature. Your support helps us open a window to the natural world, giving students experiences they wouldn’t otherwise have access to—right from their school.
