Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The majority of middle school students enter their science classrooms with an ingrained sense of curiosity about the natural world. Students love learning about various scientific phenomena as well as engaging in laboratory activities and conducting investigations. They are constantly asking questions and proposing topics for investigation.
My goal is to teach students how to think, explore, and understand this world like a scientist.
My kids are middle schoolers at a K-8 school located in a large urban area of Connecticut. The families that make up our school are hardworking people who want their children to be successful. They deserve a high-quality educational experience for their children.
The unfortunate reality is that budget cuts and funding shortages have drastically reduced available money for science materials and equipment. It is my goal to do whatever I can to level the playing field and get my kids the resources they need.
My Project
A class subscription to Science World will make a big difference in student learning! If students are to be successful, it is crucial for them to be aware of the world around them. Science World magazine focuses on current events and the latest advancements in science and technology, presented in a student-friendly manner.
Science World is a fantastic and engaging resource for students to relate real-world events to scientific concepts.
It's packed with vivid photos and colorful graphics designed to grab student attention.
Students will use the magazine throughout the year to stay informed and discover areas of personal interest, which will organically encourage further scientific exploration and learning.
