My Project
Special education students are often faced with different barriers in their academics. Basic needs such as having access to a clean environment and food should not be one of those barriers.
By providing a clean and well stocked classroom, my students will be able to focus on their educational needs rather than basic needs.
Without the worry of getting sick at school from germs, students attendance rates improve greatly. Having a wet mop and disinfecting wipes available allows me to provide this clean environment. Additionally, when a student is unable to concentrate due to hunger, they will have access to a variety of snacks- granola bars, crackers, and fruit snacks. Without the worry of food, my students will better be able to focus on instruction.
