A Welcoming Reading Space for Our ELL Students

Help me give my students access to more Spanish edition novels, and flexible seating to enjoy the new novels.

My Project

Our middle school library currently does not have a collection that matches our school's ever increasing English Language Learner Population. My goal is to create an inclusive reading corner to provide our ELL students with a cozy space that contains more novels than they already have access to.

With your support, we’ll:

Provide 12 Spanish/bilingual books appropriate for over 80 middle school ELL readers.

Add 5 new cozy and flexible seating options to create a safe feeling environment.

This project supports our ELL students by offering high-interest Spanish edition books that strengthen literacy. Also, it creates an inclusive reading environment with soft, flexible seating that encourages independent reading. Lastly, it promotes language acquisition and confidence through voluntary, choice-based reading in a comfortable space.

This reading nook will empower students to read for joy. This is a small but powerful step in feeling at home in their learning journey.
