it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are intelligent, curious, and always eager to learn, particularly anything related to science. As a Title I school located in a low-socioeconomic area of Miami with limited funds, my students are not able to partake in the kinds of hands-on science, engineering, and math-based learning experiences that foster inquisitiveness, and promote academic growth.
Weather plays an important role in their science curriculum, and this 6100 WeatherLink Live Data Collection Hub will enhance their learning experience by providing hands-on opportunities to make the study of weather more engaging.
They will use the 6100 WeatherLink Live Data Collection Hub to explore the interactions between water, air, and land. They’ll use their math and science skills to collect and analyze the weather station’s data to help them understand how air temperature, barometric pressure, humidity, precipitation, wind speed, and direction determine the weather in a particular place and time. This data hub will help them gain a better understanding of the weather instruments meteorologists use to conduct weather experiments and investigations. Your generous donation to this project will help my students develop their critical thinking skills by exposing them to real-life science and math experiences.
