Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As we approach the end of the year, I'm hoping to provide my students a variety of materials: more books about English, more snacks, more educational games!
I believe that learning happens best when students feel comfortable, and when they feel like they belong.
Moreover, at the center of my teaching philosophy is that educational settings that mirrors real-life ways of being are key to learning a new language.
My little corner of the school often serves as a hub for newcomer students, who drop by at lunch to hang out, come in for a snack, or just want to say hello, build something, or play a game. My hope is to provide them with the materials to make the newcomer hub even more inviting!
