A Voice for Every Child: AAC Tools for My Students
Help me give my students obtain an AAC device (iPad Pro). Most of my students are minimally verbal and struggle to communicate. An AAC device would empower them express themselves. This project will help my students obtain a voice.

it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I work with incredible students who are bright, curious, and full of ideas—but many of them are nonverbal or have limited verbal abilities. They face daily challenges in expressing their wants, needs, thoughts, and feelings. Most are in special education and rely on speech therapy to support their communication development. With the right tools, these students can thrive socially and academically.
This project will provide an AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) device—specifically, a tablet with a communication app like Proloquo2Go or TouchChat—that will allow my students to communicate in meaningful ways.
These tools help children who are nonverbal or minimally verbal by turning symbols, words, and phrases into speech, allowing them to interact with teachers, peers, and family members.
AAC not only gives my students a way to speak—it gives them a voice in the world.
