This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My preschool students are children who are three to five years of age. My school is in sunny San Pedro, California. The children from San Pedro come to school each morning ready to learn and grow. There is never a dull moment in our class; my students are busy bees moving from one interest area to another. They are eager to learn, explore, and experiment with the instructional materials and centers I set up for them. We need more materials for the children to develop awareness in the areas of tolerance, sympathy, compassion, ethnic awareness and pro-social skills.
My Project
I will use The Children of the World Poster pack to discuss the beauty of cultural diversity with my students. With the View from Around the World viewers my students will get a glimpse of other people's customs and countries fostering tolerance for our differences and likenesses. The Best Behavior Board Book Collections will help me teach my students the importance of good behavior; such as not hitting, not biting, not using hurtful words. The Feel and Find Sensory tubs are to provide support to my students that are struggling with learning disabilities, with these materials they will have the opportunity to use their sense of touch to find letters, numbers and shapes.
