This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our Jazz Band just came together this past October. Our students are very eager and excited about starting a tradition of excellence in jazz at the Middle School level!

They show up after school during their own time, ready to learn and grow!

The High School Jazz programs are well known for their excellence and our Middle School kids want to establish a respected reputation in the El Paso jazz community as well! With your help, these wonderful students will have an opportunity to find their passion for music through jazz!

My Project

With the creation of our new jazz program, the students excitement for music has grown! They are now researching jazz musicians that play their instrument to emulate their sound and style. Our trombone students have been inspired by the sound of the Bass Trombone, however, our campus doesn't have one in our inventory. The majority of our students come from economically disadvantaged households, and do not have the means to purchase one on their own. This trombone will grant our students the opportunity to perform quality literature, learn about how the Bass Trombone differs from Tenor Trombone, and has the potential to inspire a new generation of jazz enthusiasts!
