A Trip back in Time!

Help me give my students a "once-in-a- (past) lifetime" experience of a time lost to the ages at Medieval Times!

My Students

To say I love my students would be an understatement, to say the least! This batch of sixth-graders has been one the most responsible, considerate, and hard-working groups I've encountered in recent years. Their insatiable love for learning has an infectious effect on others, and the generous manner in which they conduct themselves is beyond measure. Honestly, I'd be hard-pressed to find another class of kids more deserving than this bunch!

Being that a great majority of our students come from low-income households, many have never left the comfort of our quaint little beach-town.

Much of the experience that we try to build for students, in hopes of improving literacy, comes from the books and applications that we use in our classrooms. Unfortunately, these resources can sometimes be limited, and do not always cater to the many different learning styles found in our classes today.

Throughout this school year, my students have worked diligently to develop their personal character, and their gratitude is the one trait that has grown by leaps and bounds. I know that given the opportunity to learn in a different, engaging environment, it would be an experience they would soon not forget!

My Project

Have you ever wondered, "Is time-travel really possible?" Time-travel has captivated the imaginations of both children and adults alike for centuries now. The idea of being able to go back in history and coexist with figures such as Honest Abe, Albert Einstein, and Amelia Earhart have inspired numerous works of literature and film productions in the modern era. Being able to witness the culture, language, customs, and traditions from another time period first-hand, not only offers pure excitement, but the likelihood of truly learning what that way of life was like long ago.

My students have the once-in-a "past" lifetime opportunity to be a part of the excitement that was once the Medieval Times!

During this educational program, students will engage in a history lesson presented by the Noble Court, set within the walls of an 11th century-style castle. From authentic coats of arms to medieval jousting, Medieval Times works tirelessly for the Middle Ages to come to life for students!

If granted the chance, students will forever remember the experience that taught them early civilizations and feudalism. Nothing could quite compare to taking a personal journey back to the Middle Ages. Please consider helping to make our time-traveling dreams come true!
