Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are from low-income communities while some of them are ESL learners and also bilingual students. My students are mostly living in apartments and have limited ways to stay motivated while learning remotely. The students belong to households where parents are struggling with English and cannot offer enough support at home.
My Project
Teachers are evolving faster than ever, thanks to this pandemic and all the adjustments we have had to make as a result of it. The silver lining in this dark cloud is that we were able to digitally evolve and learn as well as receive services and trainings to help our students more effectively.
Using the new Teachers Pay Teachers Easel will help teachers get resources digitally and teach digital literacy skills to students who will hand the work back in the same format.
Earlier we had to print and make copies and hand them out to students who used a pencil to write and returned the work. As we prepare our students for a digital world, we need to equip them with skills on an everyday basis. Using resources from TpT Easel will help students to develop those skills with their teacher in real time.
As a staff we are also learning how to create and provide digital student work, during our staff trainings and within our professional learning teams
