My Project
On April 8th, 2024 my students will be in the path of totality for the solar eclipse. This event is the first of its kind that my students remember, and it my intention to make it a day that they will never forget!
It's my goal to integrate the total eclipse into the third grade space unit by planning a Galaxy Day.
My students will engage in activities to better understand the universe and our place within it on Earth. After a morning of informational sessions using our grade-level texts, the students will engage in solar learning centers outside. As our day comes to an end, we will culminate our learning with a solar eclipse viewing party picnic on our lawn, complete with Sunny Delight, Moon Pies, and Eclipse gum.
Solar eclipses are rare and awe-inspiring events that provide a unique opportunity for students to witness the wonders of our universe. With this day, I aim to enhance their educational experience and foster a lifelong curiosity about the world around them.
