My Students
A typical day in our classroom involves students continuing to work on experiments they design for their graduation portfolio. Our Hermann's Tortoise Flippy provides comic relief and stress relief for students in the classroom.
Our school has been compared to a "refugee camp for students traumatized by the traditional educational system".
Our students are talented and unique. Half of the week they are out on internships and the other half they take classes to help them move towards graduation. We are a consortium school, meaning that students must complete a graduation portfolio at the end of their experience here.
My Project
The students have requested that I acquire a better enclosure and more food for our tortoise. They are worried that she is not happy and does not have enough space. By acquiring a better, more appropriate enclosure, the students will be reassured that our class mascot is taken care of well.
Our classroom mascot, Flippy, brings comic relief and hands-on experiences to our students.
By taking better care of Flippy and acquiring a more suitable enclosure, the students will be able to enjoy her for many more years to come.
