My Project

I work in Title I school, meaning that at least half of the enrolled students live at or below the poverty level. I am an occupational therapist and it’s my job to support students and teachers. I work with some of the best teachers and students I’ve ever known and I want to do all I can to support them. There is not enough money or time in a day for any individual (teacher/para/therapist) to complete all of the extra tasks that would benefit the students. In my “free” time, I additionally support staff and students by assembling (printing/gluing/laminating/Velcro-ing etc.) basic educational materials that can be used in the special education classrooms. I provide sensory supports for our "wiggly" kids and those who like to chew on our inedible materials. Those small items aren't cheap! I purchase most materials and small sensory items out of my own funds and am asking for assistance with supplying some of the most often used materials.
