Teaching is something that runs deep in my family.
My mom and godmother both taught at the same school I am now.
My sister teaches at a nearby school as well. We all have a great love of teaching and our community. At this time I am a Kindergarten teacher at a Pre K-5th grade school. My hometown is known to be a close area that works together for our students. Parental support is a definite priority in our area. Our local school has around 550 students. I have a fun loving class who embraces learning!
My Project
A tisket, a tasket, drop an iPad in our basket! As a teacher whose Kindergarten students use technology daily, I know that if we had an iPad mini 3 and case, we could utilize it in a truly productive way. My students need an iPad mini 3 tablet and case.
When I was preparing my first mini iPad proposal, the nursery rhyme "A tisket, a tasket" kept going through my mind.
Since I received an iPad mini, I would now like to request an iPad Air and case, which would offer more options for my students. In this case, my new version would be "a tisket, a tasket, drop an iPad in our basket." Obviously, as a teacher, I know the importance of focusing on different student levels. I have no doubt, that the use of an iPad, could assist with independent iPad centers to increase reading and math skills levels. With an iPad Mini 3, I could use it by having a couple of iPads in one technology center. With apps for phonics, decoding, comprehension and more, I know my Kindergarten students could benefit from using more than one iPad in my tablet center. Our school has been fortunate enough to gain some technology for the students in the last few years, however, as a group, we know iPads could offer even more help for our students.
For obvious reasons, additional technology money is not readily available for classroom iPads.
Please know that my students and I would be appreciative of your help in having our own classroom iPad Mini 3 and case. It would be used for productive lessons to bring the students to a higher level of academic achievement. Can you please help drop another iPad in our Kindergarten basket?
