While food sustainability has been a trending topic of environmental awareness, understanding food preparation in an age of quick and accessible food options makes food awareness a challenge.
With an ability to consume and apply information at rapid rates, my preschoolers will understand food availability and learn proper food preparation - a skill set that will serve these young students for a lifetime.
While the local culture observes a cuisine that is customary to Hawaii (and certainly appreciated),
broadening food opportunities with these kitchen sets and books will provide my students with a wider variety of food options, and the wherewithal to pursue food alternatives in a healthy and safe manner.
