My Project

Having iPads available to my 7th-grade civics class could be a transformative step toward enhancing my students' engagement with historical figures through the innovative app "Hello History." By providing students with access to this app, I will not just be introducing a piece of technology, but rather a window into the past that fosters deeper connections and understanding. With "Hello History," students can virtually interact with historical icons, immersing themselves in key moments that shaped our world.

The iPads donated will be loaded with the "Hello History" app, to enable my students to step into the shoes of historical figures, experiencing pivotal events from their perspectives.

This interactive platform bridges the gap between textbooks and real-life experiences, allowing students to witness history unfold in a dynamic and engaging manner. Whether it's standing beside Martin Luther King Jr. during his iconic "I Have a Dream" speech or joining Susan B. Anthony in her fight for women's suffrage, the app offers an unparalleled level of immersion that traditional teaching methods simply cannot provide.

Moreover, the donation of iPads not only fosters a stronger connection to historical figures but also equips my students with valuable digital literacy skills. As they navigate the "Hello History" app, they'll learn how to engage with technology in an educational context, a crucial skill in today's digital age. This project has the potential to inspire a lifelong passion for history and civic engagement, as students grasp the significance of these figures' contributions through an interactive and immersive experience that resonates deeply with them.
