My Students
The challenge my students face is trying to express themselves without writing like they sound or talk. Most of my students are Hispanic and therefore are challenged with separating Hispanic phonics and spelling with English phonics and spelling.
My students are from an Hispanic Culture.
They are students who are eager to learn and excited to discover new things. They attend a public school in Michigan and continually demonstrate their thirst for knowledge. They are festive, colorful and kind.
My Project
We need a printer and transparencies, and construction paper to publish their writing and organizers to store their work. These resources will change my students lives because they will have an opportunity to see in print exactly what they envision in their minds. They will be able to provide constructive feedback to their peers and produce literature that they have written. They will learn how to become effective 4th grade writers (authors). They each will produce a published writing of their choosing. The activity will either be a poem, story or autobiography. In order to facilitate this project we are going to need a laser printer, construction paper, organizer boxes and transparencies.
This donation will help students to express themselves and unlock that creative imagination.
Students are our future and its imperative that the students of our time are able to write effectively. These are life skills that every child needs to be the best that they can be.
