Our classrooms need a better system to organize students' belongings. This furniture will help keep the backpack storage area tidy and also serve as their mailbox. This new space will help teach students how to be responsible and keep track of their belongings at school.
Our current backpack station is not easy to organize and takes up much space where precious learning items could go instead.
The wheels on the storage unit will allow me to push it outside under our hallway awning (in front of our classroom). Belongings will no longer take up classroom space but will allow me to bring the cart in each night to protect it from vandalism.
Students will have easy access to their belongings and mailboxes. They can hang up both their backpacks and jackets (which currently they are unable to do). This unit will give me more space in the classroom and help teach students to take care of their belongings in an organized way.
