Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Research has shown that when students are given an opportunity to move around the classroom and stand up at a white board with a group of peers more critical and open thinking occurs for ALL students.
By placing 5 large white boards around the entire classroom students will have the opportunity to exchange ideas about puzzle problems while they each have an opportunity to express their thinking and explain how their brain is solving the work.
Students will take ownership in their learning as they stand and work next to these white boards and they drive the instruction and ideas. By making these areas where group discussions occur we are also working on building community and respecting everyones voices and ideas.
More than half of students from low‑income households
