This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Hello! I teach 3rd grade in a very low income school. We are almost 100% free and reduced lunch. The children come from homes where English is not spoken. They have many obstacles to overcome and the academic playing field is not level.
I am a first year teacher in this school and it is hard to find all of the furniture and supplies I need. I have been on the hunt for a teacher table to aid in my teaching small groups in reading and math.
This horseshoe teacher table is tall enough for my third graders and just the right shape. I will be able to teach to that small group of 4-6 students and see what each student is working on. We have many small group lessons throughout our day. So a teacher table would definitely be a great asset.
Our school is in a low socio-economic area. The students are disadvantaged at home. Due to the lack of resources, they are disadvantaged at school. Our school will undergo renovation during the winter and spring of 2008. While our building will be updated, there are no plans for new desks or furniture. We have no money and no way to fundraise for these essentials. I would like for these children to have nice work areas at school. They need to feel they are important and that their education matters. Having this teacher table will allow me to be a better teacher in the small group and 1 on 1 situations. Thank you!!!
