My students need yarn, construction paper, and new scissors to complete a project that will allow them to write and express their writing through string art.

My Students
Writing and art help students to use their imagination and activate their creative senses. During the last month of school, the students will apply what they a learned a write a creative fairy tale using their favorite cartoon character. The students will then create a book cover using string art.
My students are a bright, responsible, and creative group of students.
They are fifth grade students preparing for middle school who have deserved this project which will allow them to relax, relate, and release. Our school does not offer art class therefore this project will allow them the opportunity to be exposed to an art technique of string art.
My Project
These resources will allow my students the opportunity to be creative. Who knows their story may be published by a publishing company or be bought by the cartoon writers. Their string art may be hung in an art museum or school gallery. But through it all it will allow them a chance to enjoy the writing process and have the leisure of using art to express themselves.
This project will allow my students to use their multiple intelligences to create a product.
For most, it will allow them an opportunity to appreciate the power of writing and art.
