Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach English to high school students who hate reading. I am always trying to find new ways to trick them into liking literature. I have them do posters, powerpoints, and now I want to try making a unit assessment revolve around an image that they draw.
I want students to try engage their artistic ways and connect them to the literature we are reading.
Students will use the paint and the canvas to depict a scene from the readings and showcase it. They will write a description using literary devices found in the readings.
I think this would engage our students and push them to see past the chore of reading.
