This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are 18-22 years old, come from diverse backgrounds, and have different abilities. They are amazing, thoughtful, and determined. I am inspired by them every day, and they motivate me to do my best.
You may be wondering what makes my students so special.
To begin with, they are the most generous and kind students you will ever meet. They are always eager to lend a hand and contribute to the greater good. They have a "never give up" mindset. Despite obstacles and setbacks, they just keep on trying until they achieve their goals!
My Project
My students are very involved the school and community in the search for their level of independence. The supplies I have included will assist my hardest to reach students enjoy success.
They clean at school, they clean in the community, and they clean at home.
Sound like a lot of work? Nothing is too much for my students, they rise to the expectations I have for them everyday!! We clean the cafeteria twice a day and are in need of replacement cleaning supplies to ensure the tables are sanitized and ready for the students in the school.
The coloring books will assist my students to learn safety and survival signs in the classroom and to be able to recognize them in the community... the two places my STEPS program emphasizes. Many of my students have sensory issues and headphones will assist them in blocking out unpleasant noises while they work both in the classroom as well as while in the community.
