My Students

I teach in a high poverty school where a majority of our students receive free lunch and everyone receives free breakfast. Our population is very diverse and has changed considerably over the past ten years with an influx of lower-income and immigrant families. Housing in the area ranges from rental mobile home parks to luxury homes. Therefore, my students come from all different backgrounds, nationalities, and socio-economic levels, but in our classroom, we are all one big happy family! My students overcome obstacles every day from language barriers to essential needs, but they still come to school with a smile on their face.

My students walk into our classroom full of life, ready to learn, and excited for what is in store for them!

We are a team and work together each and every day. My students are full of questions and great ideas and love hands-on learning! They make teaching so much fun! It is a blessing to spend each day with them! I want to make their kindergarten year as special as possible. To do that, I need your help!

My Project

Through DonorsChoose, we have been able to outfit our classroom with many STEM bins filled with materials for our students to use each day. These materials are used every day to develop engineering, problem-solving, and creativity in our learners.

It is very important for us to take good care of our supplies, so that they will last us for years to come.

In an effort to do that, we are asking for a shelving unit from Lakeshore. As our STEM bin collection has grown, our current shelving is too small and has become wobbly and unsafe. We need a sturdy organizational unit that will stand the test of time so we are able to keep the items organized and easily accessible.
