Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Please help our students expand their curiosity through science and technology. We are a Title 1 school located in a low-socioeconomic area. We have very limited funds to purchase scientific equipment for our school. As a result, our students are not able to participate in hands-on technological experiences.
Our students come in all sizes and colors, are intelligent, curious, and eager to learn.
However, because of their economic situations, they are not able to use the kinds of science, engineering, and math technology that encourages inquisitiveness and helps develop academic growth.
My Project
Most of our students have little exposure to life experiences, particularly those involving real-world STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics) activities. This project will help us create a STEAM lab where our students can go to perform hands-on science, technology, engineering, art, and math activities.
LittleBits STEAM and WeDo 2.0 Core Set by LEGO will teach them about coding, robotics, and basic circuitry concepts.
K’NEX Education Kits, Engino Stem Mechanics Buildings & Bridges Kit, and Engino Discovering STEM Kit will teach them about engineering design and construction. Our STEAM lab will encourage curiosity and innovation, and develop their creative and critical thinking skills. A STEAM lab of discovery and wonder that with your help will bring scientific experiences to life.
More than half of students from low‑income households
