This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have been a first grade teacher in a diverse environment for five years. I have my undergraduate degree in childhood and my masters degree in special education. I am absolutely passionate about what I do. I could not imagine doing anything else.

Every year I have students who need one on one attention and need to work with me for extra help.

I have always had a small classroom and no room for a desk. This year I am deciding to get a flexible desk that can move around and support all of my students with small group instruction. The storage hooks will also be a very effective way to keep our backpacks and jackets in a tidy place and give our classroom the space they need to move around and learn in a spacey and fun classroom environment.

My Project

My students will not use these materials directly, but rather, will have the ability to work with me one on one and get the support they need in a comfortable environment. The desk will help students have a comfortable space to come meet with me to get feedback and aim for their highest potential. The backpack storage cart will be used to help students have easy access to their materials and have more space for flexible seating.

This project will have a HUGE impact on the way I differentiate and work one on one with my students at my teacher desk.

It will also help keep our classroom organized and give it more space with the flexible backpack cart.

A lot of the students in my class need a lot of support in writing and need to meet with me individually to get some feedback to help their writing get better.
