Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I have incorporated a lot of books from the series A Little Spot. I think this series is so inviting for young readers and there are so many learning opportunities with these books. This series also allows students to learn about different feelings and emotions that can be experienced each day. It is important for students to be able to have social-emotional support that can help them manage behaviors. The books are colorful which will grasp the attention of young readers and they will be motivated to see what's on each page.
I want my students to be inspired and learn that it's okay to have different feelings.
I also added some books that will allow my students to learn more about different animals. I've heard some of my students talk about a lot of the animals that are featured in the sets and I think they will enjoy expanding their knowledge on each animal. Some of my students also have a great interest in science-related topics such as the solar system, sun, moon, etc. Which is why I added it to my list. I think these books are going to be a great addition to my classroom and I'm looking forward to adding them to the classroom library.
