This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Help me make a safe environment for my drama classroom. My goal is for each student to have a spot to learn and to create. As the drama teacher in an elementary school, I teach all 660 kids in my school in one week. My classroom sees lots of wear and tear.

We are a Title I school, and many of my students come from diverse backgrounds and circumstances.

I want my students to have access to all that the arts have to offer. Giving them the necessary supplies and space will help them grow in their art and drama skills.

Each table will have their own supplies like markers and colored pencils on their cart. This will allow for easy access and clean up. Students will learn responsibility in the drama classroom when creating. We will work to keep it organized for the next class.

A new carpet on which to share and discuss when we come in as well as carpet spots will help us have our own spaces and create community. I want to make sure everything is labeled and ready for them when they enter the room. I want my drama room to be somewhere they feel safe and creative.
