My Students
Wouldn't it be nice to be able to sit on a carpet that has your favorite color? Kindergarten is the start of our educational journey. By letting students choose their own spot we are letting them know that they are in charge of their education.
My Kindergartens live in military housing.
All our children have one or both of their parents serving our country and experience long separations from their military parent. These kids are from all over the country and some have moved many times in their short lives. They come to school and are eager learners. They absorb all that I have to teach.
My Project
By giving students a spot to sit and call it their own as we come together as a family, in the classroom, we are providing them with a strong bond to the importance of learning! With a spot to call their own the students will feel a confidence that will boost their learning.
The students will come into the classroom to see a brightly colored carpet.
Then finding out that they get to choose a color to call their own learning spot. This will brighten their mood and outlook on the first day of school and carry it with them throughout the year! That scenario will be played out with your help in funding this project.
