My Project

My students are energetic, curious, and eager to learn every day. To help them thrive, I’m working to create a classroom environment that supports their need for structure, comfort, and a sense of belonging. One simple but powerful addition that would make a huge difference in our classroom is a rug with clearly marked seating spots.

A rug like this provides more than just a place to sit — it helps establish routines, promotes personal space, and supports classroom management.

With designated spots, students will know exactly where to go during story time, morning meetings, group activities and learning time. It helps reduce distractions and transitions, giving us more time for meaningful learning.

Both rugs will also bring warmth to our classroom, creating a welcoming and inclusive space where every child has a place that’s just for them and a cozy spot to read in the library with peers on our A-Z alphabet rug.

This matters because having a structured, cozy, and clearly defined gathering area helps students feel secure and focused. It supports social-emotional learning by encouraging respectful spacing and building a sense of community. Whether we’re sharing stories, learning new concepts, or celebrating small wins, this rug will be where all of this takes place.

Thank you for helping us create a learning environment where every student has a spot to learn and grow!
