My Students

It is my opinion that science is meant to be hands-on. Chemistry is such an abstract subject that is best learned through demonstrations and experiments. The available supplies we currently have will not allow for any meaningful scientific investigation. Curiosity and experimentation are essential in the learning process.

The majority of my students have Autism Spectrum Disorder and are extremely passionate about their interests - in this case, science experiments.

My Project

My classroom is lacking the needed resources to provide an interactive and hands-on experience to my Chemistry students. The ChemKits that would be purchased through this project would allow my students to apply the theoretical knowledge they gain in my classroom to actual situations that will deepen their understanding of Chemical Yields, Thermochemistry, and Equilibrium.

One of the ChemKits purchased through this project will show the students how systems want to remain in equililbrium but often change when stressors are added.

This topic is particularly difficult to understand without models and visual representations, so your donations towards these ChemKits will help my students to have a more meaningful Chemistry experience.
