This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My English Language Learners love to learn through song! We sing and dance to songs about multiplication, continents, oceans, and anything we can find that relates to our lessons. Songs are proven to increase retention of content, especially for English Language Learners. I have seen this first hand and it bring me so much joy! We also love to follow along animated read-alouds. These help engage my students so they can focus on the reading strategy we are mastering that week. This speaker will give everyone an equal opportunity to hear the songs and stories no matter where they sit in the room!
