A Space for Reading

My students need book boxes and bags, a small rug, seating options, and a few new books to make our entire classroom a great place to read.

My Students

Our 1st grade classroom is full of wonderers, mathematicians, readers, writers, artists and scientists. They love to ask questions, explore and discover. They work together and strive to do their personal best. They arrive at school eager to share their observations and thoughts about the world around them.

Their enthusiasm and curiosity are a source of daily inspiration.

Every day we work, learn and grow together at our arts and inquiry based elementary school. I worked with these amazing students in Kindergarten as well, so it is truly be a joy to see their continued growth as we dive in to 1st grade.

My Project

My 1st graders are eager growing readers. I would like to improve our classroom library with book boxes they will fill with books they love, bags for the books we read in small reading groups, a beautiful rug to make an inviting space and a few seating options. Each day we spend time reading in our library and around our room. The cushions will enable them to comfortably spread out around the room and find a quiet spot to read.

As a teacher, there is something so beautiful about seeing children spread to every corner of a space, engrossed in books.
