My Students
As a teacher serving a low income area, there are specific challenges that my students face both in and out of the classroom. These eager and excited young students come to school every day ready to learn and happy to explore. Unfortunately, situations beyond their control threaten their success on a daily basis.
Many of my students have a difficult time securing the basic supplies they'll need for daily use.
For this reason, my projects on Donor's Choose are of vital importance to my students. I believe that it is my duty to provide these exceptional young thinkers the best opportunities that I possibly can. My diverse group of dedicated and inquisitive students will get the chance they deserve with the help of these resources.
My Project
These materials will assist my students in their daily literacy activities. The magazine holders function as book boxes where students can keep their own personal just right books for independent and partner reading. Research shows that students who read books at their own level on a daily basis build their literacy skills and become better readers.
These boxes will give students their own personal space to keep their books and give them the ability to individualize their learning.
Copy paper is also included so that each student can have the materials they need to succeed. Teaching in a Title I school, teachers are not always provided the amount of basic supplies needed to support their students. This copy paper will allow me to provide my students with all the resources they need without having to worry about running out of paper before the end of the unit, marking period or year.
