My Project

I teach an incredible group of 12 students in grades K-3 who face various challenges, including learning, behavioral, and attention difficulties. To help them thrive, we rely on consistent routines, timers, picture schedules, and individualized behavior charts that provide much-needed structure and stability.

In our classroom, the floor is where we come together as a community.

We use it for a variety of activities every day, such as circle time, group discussions, independent reading, and calming breaks. A clean, comfortable classroom rug with designated seating will help my students feel secure and focused by giving them their own space to sit.

The rug I’ve selected features 20 large squares, giving each student their own "wiggle-room" while maintaining personal space. This is essential for fostering structure, promoting organization, and providing clear seating boundaries.

A classroom carpet is important because it enhances focus by minimizing distractions and creating a calm environment. It teaches personal space and boundaries, supports smooth transitions, and serves as a community-building tool where students can come together for group activities. Additionally, the soft surface helps regulate sensory needs, providing a comfortable and welcoming space for learning.
