My Students
Our district is very small with only two schools in it and our school has approximately 900 students total, but we are growing quickly.
We live just a few blocks away from the Pacific coast.
My students come from a variety of backgrounds and family structures. They are all full of life and have a huge love of learning! Our students work hard, have huge dreams, and deserve an education that not only consists of textbooks, but also technology, hands on learning, magazines/newspapers, and so much more.
My Project
My class needs fiction and nonfiction books so they can read and get their imagination flowing. As we move into readers' workshop this year, students will be asked to pick books from different genres. To be able to have the ease of going into our classroom library to get books that are at their reading level in both fiction, and most importantly non fiction would be amazing.
By implementing the readers workshop model, my students will be able to see themselves as readers.
They will be able to find books that interest them, and dive in and become part of the book.
