This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are currently enrolled in a Brooklyn public elementary school where they are exposed to a dynamic, but under-resourced arts program. Our kids make creative and energetic art that fills our schools hallways. For our students, drawing is a fun and fundamental way to connect with the world and express their ideas and emotions! Sharpie Markers are an essential but costly staple of our drawing lessons.
Drawing plays an important role in these activities by allowing my students to engage great works of art and helping them plan out their own art ideas through drawing.
