A Sharp Pencil Make a Sharp Mind

My students need pencils because most of them are unable to provide their own due to problems at home.

My Students

My students are eager to learn and experience the world through geography. We are a hands-on group that likes to be active and out of their seats.

Even though I want to transition my class to a move hands-on classroom my students are in need of basic supplies, mainly pencils.

Many of my students come from low-income households and struggle to buy the supplies that are needed for class. I want my students to be excited to come into class and not have to worry about whether they have the supplies needed for the day, but at times I am not able to provide these supplies either. I want my classroom to be the positive and open place they can come and explore the world.

My Project

I am requesting pencils for my classroom because it is a need that my students have. Most of my students come from low-income families and are most times unable to provide these supplies for themselves.

I am looking for ways to alleviate their worry about finding a pencil.

Kids these days have enough on their plate and do not need the worry over something as simple as having a pencil so that they can complete their classwork.

My students come into the classroom eager to learn and participate in our activities and being able to provide them with these simple supplies will only boost their eagerness. With these pencils and sharpener my students will have more time in class to learn about the different place and people in the Western Hemisphere because they will not have to be searching for a simple classroom item. I plan on adding more lapbooks into this coming semester. The creation of these lapbooks takes a lot of writing and drawing to make them come to life. With the addition of these supplies into my classroom I believe that we can make this a less stressful and more creative task.
