This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
What do you remember about your first day of school? Did you have a brand new backpack filled with supplies? Well many students this year won't have those supplies. As their teacher I want to do what I can to help them with getting their supplies for school.
This school year I will have at least twenty one students in my classroom.
My school has a mobility rate of 17% and students who come from a low sociol-economic background. Many of my students will receive free lunch However, despite what they lack, I am determined that they get the best education possible. It's my job as their teacher to make sure that my students have every chance to be successful inside and out of the classroom.
My Project
These resources would really make a difference for my students. This would guarantee that every child in my classroom has the basic supplies. We would have enough pencils for every child in the classroom. My students would be able to take a few pencils home to make sure that homework was completed. There wouldn't be any work turned in with a marker or pen. All my students would have folders to take home. The dry erase pens would come in handy for centers and workstations in our classroom. This means that my students wouldn't have to worry about replacing supplies that parents can't afford.
With this donation, you are helping my students start the school year with something that they really need.
Just think about how it would make them feel to know that people that they have never met want them to succeed just as much as I do.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
