Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
At my school we serve a very underprivileged group of individuals. These young ladies and gentlemen come from broken homes with little money (school is 100% free lunch). They have very little to look forward to and that is something that I try to change within the walls of my classroom. I believe that through your help my room can become a refuge for those students who see education as there way out of this downward spiral. In addition, I want my room to be a place where people who don't like education can eventually start to turn themselves around before they go to high school.
My Project
As an athletic supporter, coach, assistant coach, and concerned teacher I see a need for my student-athletes. These young men and women outside in the Arizona sun nearly every day for games and practice and they are sweating themselves to sickness some days. Unfortunately for many of our home field game areas and most of our away games for boys and girls soccer, softball, football my teams are forced to sit out in the sweltering sun were in the fall and spring temperatures can regularly reach 115 degrees with high's this fall already at 120 degrees. In order to help cut down on sun, heat, skin damage, and heat stroke I would like to offer my teams a safe shaded area that they can take with them from game to game.
