Children love serial literature, but can become especially frustrated when the entire series is not available to them. No teacher or librarian wants to leave an eager reader empty-handed. The requested books in this proposal reflect the gaps in the most popular series in the school where I work as the librarian.
Children love to read series fiction, which offers comfort, familiarity, and the chance to visit old friends.
The benefit of having plenty of these titles available in our school library is twofold: we have many reluctant readers who will read more frequently and with more interest when they do not feel threatened by the prospect of reading a book with which they have no familiarity; and series literature is often the bridge between a child who will not read at all for pleasure and a child who is a confident and independent reader. Please assist our library with the books necessary to keep the kids reading the books they most want to read.
