Please help us acquire activity play centers and sensory mat for our sensory corner! I am a teacher of 12 students in a self-contained autistic support room, so having a sensory corner is absolutely necessary as students need various items to fulfill sensory needs. Sensory needs can be met in different ways and these wall tiles give students the opportunity to use their sense of touch to manage their emotions. Needs can appear when students feel overwhelmed, sad or very excited, making refocusing tough.
A sensory corner gives students the opportunity to recenter and enjoy their time in the classroom.
It also gives us the ability to provide students with an environment that prioritizes their needs and reflects who they are. Thank you for helping us build this environment in the classroom and providing accessibility to my students.
