This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Creating a sensory friendly classroom for my students on the autism spectrum is essential. My students learn and explore using their senses. With these materials like the tiles and mats, I can create a classroom for my students where they will develop cognitive skills, develop language skills, strengthen fine and gross motor skills, encourage social interaction with peers, and increase focus.

A sensory rich classroom will help my students learn about their world in a natural environment.

Encouraging and providing opportunities for my students to use all of their senses through play is crucial to their development. I want my students to feel comfortable in their learning space. I also want them to enjoy learning.
