Sensory rooms are very beneficial for children of all ages and abilities, as they provide a safe place to calm down, relax or engage. Our current sensory room is utilized by students multiple times every day and includes materials and equipment such as a trampoline, tumble mat and crash pad, as well as several sensory material bins. The items I am requesting would benefit my students by enhancing their sensory room experience by adding various light elements, such as the light cube and accessories, fiber optic and touch lights, and bubble light. Using a tool such as the wobble board will support balance skills and increase body awareness, and using squishy fidgets will provide calming input to support student regulation. These additional materials will support my students to develop communication skills, improve focus, relieve stress, increase social skills and improve balance and body awareness at a critical time in their early development. Please help us make our sensory room sense-sational!
