A Safe Space with Tools to Support All Learners!

Help me give my students with IEP's a calm, supportive space to feel safe, seen, and successful, in and out of the classroom!

My Project

In my role as a Behavior Specialist and Resource Team Lead, I support over one hundred and fifty high school students with IEP's. Many of my students face daily challenges with focus, emotional regulation, and self-confidence. While my work centers around supporting students with diagnosed disabilities, my office has also become a safe space for students in crisis from across the school; anyone who needs a moment to reset, regroup, or be heard. I am working to make this space into a calm, welcoming environment where every student feels safe, supported and empowered!

With your help, I’ll be able to add comfy bean bag chairs and wiggle seats to create flexible, sensory-friendly seating that allows students to decompress and re-engage.

We need stress balls, cloud clay, and sensory threading boards to provide calming tools for students with ADHD, autism, or anxiety.

A Timer would help students better manage their time and transitions with less stress.

Conversation cards and SEL notebooks will build emotional awareness, self-expression, and confidence in one-on-one and small group work.

These are the students who struggle the most, and they deserve the chance to succeed just like anyone else. This space will give them the tools and the trust they need to grow.
