A Safe Space to Nurture Physical and Mental Health
Help me give my students the opportunity to stay in school while facing life's challenges. This will be a multifunctional room which will improve the mental and physical health of students while in the health office.

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
We want all students in school, especially when life gets tough, so we are converting a storage room within the health office, into a wellness space. To do that, we need basic furnishings such as a comfortable chair, rug, and other items to turn the space into more of a lounge.
Providing students with a safe and comfortable space will help to make that possible.
This room within the health office will support students with mental health needs and those that require privacy for health reasons. Creating this space helps to further advance health equity within schools by ensuring that there is a designated room for students experiencing temporary medical conditions. Students should not have to miss school when experiencing health conditions that can be safely managed with the right resources.
